Many of the Richards Center's programs are made possible by the generous support of donors who establish endowments for the Center or who give on a regular basis. Our Membership Program is designed to encourage support for the Center as well as to enhance Members' enjoyment and appreciation of Civil War era history and scholarship. The Membership Program's format is similar to that of public radio or the performing arts. Members may join at one of several different levels, each with its own set of benefits. These gifts include discounts on the journal Civil War History, autographed copies of Richards Center faculty books, and special invitations to Richards Center functions. Benefits of Membership

• Student (faculty signature and academic affiliation required), $30
  Student members receive a discount on a subscription to the quarterly journal Civil War History, the Center's newsletter, and invitations to Center workshops and conferences.

• Regular, $60 - 99
  Regular members receive a discount on a subscription to the quarterly journal Civil War History, the Center's newsletter, and invitations to Center workshops and conferences.

• Contributing, $100 - 299
  Contributing members receive a complimentary subscription to Civil War History. They also receive all Regular membership benefits.

• Supporting, $300 - 499
  In addition to the benefits of Contributing membership, Supporting members receive an autographed copy of a Center faculty book of their choice.

• Sustaining, $500 - 999
  Along with Contributing benefits, Sustaining members are entitled to two autographed books from Center faculty, plus an official Richards Center baseball cap embossed with the Richards Center logo.

• Founding, $1000+
  Founding members are entitled to copies of all Center books published during the membership year, a complimentary subscription to Civil War History, special invitations to Richards Center receptions, plus a discount on Penn State's Civil War battlefield tours.
